YK Office, designed by Team BURĒAU, is a space where the story of cotton—the material that started it all—takes center stage. The client’s journey began in the world of cotton import and export, a detail shared in our first meeting with the words, “everything has started with cotton.” This sentiment became the cornerstone of the design concept, aiming to remind the client of their beginnings while providing continuous motivation.
Team BURĒAU abstracted the essence of cotton into the design, capturing the contrast between the brown shell and the delicate white fibers within. The color scheme draws directly from this contrast, using rich browns and crisp whites to evoke the imagery of cotton’s natural form. The brown shell inspired the use of thin, sleek brown metal sheets throughout the interiors, echoing the protective yet elegant structure of the cotton plant.
The circular wood panel shell structure enveloping the space further references the cotton plant, creating a warm, organic environment. The design also introduces an element of luxury, reminiscent of a classic Porsche 911, through the use of leather and wood—materials carefully chosen for their association with high-end automotive craftsmanship. Root wood and cappuccino-toned leathers, paired with the cotton-inspired color scheme, create a space that is casual yet luxurious, ensuring the user feels both comfortable and motivated.
In YK Office, Team BURĒAU has crafted an environment that honors the client’s origins while symbolizing a journey toward continued success and sophistication.
